The allegorical poem, ‘The boulder and the water’ describes the stormy relationship between the protagonist who is the water and her consort, who is the boulder. She perceives him as standing between her and her bid for freedom and happiness.   She rebels and finds what she craves for but makes a volte-face that brings her back to where she began.  What does she realise?
